The Center for a New Generation subjects include math, science, language arts, instrumental music, visual and performing arts.  We also offer sports, field trips, and other special activities to be consistent with CNG’s goal of serving the “total” child.

A “hands-on”, active, nurturing environment is key to achieving the objective of developing the joy of discovery and encouraging active involvement in the learning process. Research indicates that experiences in fun, informal settings can significantly improve science, math and technology learning outcomes for students from groups which are historically under-represented in “STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) classrooms and educational programs.  Environments that are interactive and designed with specific learning goals support academic gains for these students.

Engagement in the arts (visual, dance, music, martial and culinary) nurtures the development of cognitive, social and personal competencies.  Art-focused, after-school programs can increase academic achievement, decrease youth involvement in negative behaviors and improve youth attitudes towards themselves, others and their futures.

"I have been in the CNG program for 2 years, and I like that I am able to learn new things that I never thought I would do." - Lazaro (Student, Age 10)
